Working within the Operational Technology DBA team, you will be responsible for administering enterprise‑scale database platforms that support Distribution, Transmission, and Nuclear operations, including SCADA‑related environments. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives, and play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and security of systems that serve millions of customers. The hybrid work arrangement provides flexibility while maintaining strong team collaboration and hands‑on technical engagement with critical systems.
- Administer and support Oracle, SQL Server, Postgre
SQL, and Maria
DB database environments - Perform database builds, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and optimization activities
- Manage backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies to ensure data protection
- Support high‑availability and disaster recovery solutions across multiple platforms
- Monitor database systems and resolve performance, availability, and capacity issues proactively
- Participate in 24x7 on‑call rotation providing support one week every four weeks
- Respond to incidents and service requests through Service Now ticketing system
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database‑related issues in production environments
- Support ongoing projects including system upgrades and infrastructure modernization efforts
- Collaborate with application teams and stakeholders on database design and performance optimization
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell scripting, Power Shell, T‑SQL, and PL/SQL
- Improve operational efficiency through automation of routine database administration tasks
- Work closely with internal IT teams, architects, and application owners on technical solutions
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Provide technical consultation and guidance for new and existing database systems
- Promote best practices in database management and operational excellence across the organization
- Hands‑on database administration with SQL Server versions 2014 through 2022
- Hands‑on database administration with Oracle versions 12c, 19c, and 21c
- Backup and recovery strategy implementation and execution
- Performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Patch management and database builds
- Postgre
SQL and MySQL database administration - Shell scripting for Unix and Linux environments
- Power Shell scripting and automation
- T‑SQL and PL/SQL programming
- Service Now ticketing system experience
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaboration and teamwork in cross‑functional environments
- Oracle ASM, RAC, and Data Guard technologies
- SQL Server Always On, Clustering, Replication, and SSIS
- Database upgrade and migration project experience
- Five to seven years or more of hands‑on database administration experience
- Experience working in utilities, energy, or SCADA environments preferred
- Eight or more years of equivalent professional experience may substitute for degree requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Oracle certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional preferred
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA preferred
