Metro Transit is one of the country's largest transit systems, employs more than 3,000 people, and provides ridership through an integrated network of buses, light rail and commuter trains, as well as resources for those who carpool, vanpool, walk or bike in the Twin Cities.

This position resides in the Asset Management department within Metro Transit. Asset management focuses on the strategic planning for the care of physical assets (fleet, facilities, rail, signs, fare boxes) throughout their lifecycle. The department collaborates across the organization to support technologies, processes and people to build a strong and sustainable asset management program.

How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) 2 or 3 individual in this role combines business planning expertise with information technology systems to analyze and translate departments' business requirements into system use. This position will support Asset Management functions within Metro Transit and across the Council, including asset optimization, life‑cycle management, investment prioritization and the existing and future Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions.

The EAMS supports work management, procurement, inventory and material management, maintenance, and lifecycle management.

NOTE: This position is eligible for a hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. The candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

* This recruitment will establish a six (6) month Eligibility List for current and future vacancies.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as a lead liaison between business unit end‑users, technical analysts, information technology analysts and vendors in analyzing, designing, configuring, testing and maintaining systems to ensure optimal system performance within the EAM solution.
  • Identifies, evaluates, analyzes, documents, and maintains asset data registry, hierarchy, structure and datasets, overseeing the creation, duplication, deletion, organization, standardization, quality control, backup, and restoration of various data objects in preparation for the new EAMS.
  • Assists in the implementation, configuration, utilization and overall support of the new EAMS solution.
  • Maximizes the use of the existing and new EAMS, utilizing their capabilities to analyze, document, and support work processes and workflow requirements, innovations, automation, and integrations.
  • Prepares standardized procedures and corresponding documents for new EAMS solution relating to process definition, process reengineering, and change management.
  • Collaboratively develop and support data integrations between EAMS and other Council business systems (i.e. Geographic Information Systems – GIS).
  • Applies analytical methods to develop reports, dashboards, KPI metrics utilizing EAMS.
  • Works in a technical, detailed hands‑on and project lead capacity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Business Systems Analyst 2

Any of the following combinations of experience (in management analysis, related analytical or equivalent experience) and completed education (degree field of study in Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, or closely related field):

  • High school diploma/GED and seven (7) years of related work experience.
  • Associate degree and five (5) years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and (3) years of related work experience.
Business Systems Analyst 3

Any of the following combinations of experience (in data systems management, work process management, or similar experience) and completed education (degree field of study in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, or closely related field):

  • High school diploma/GED with eight (8) years of experience with a minimum of one year performing configurations and modifications within the specific business application.
  • Associate degree with six (6) years of experience with a minimum of one year performing configurations and modifications within the specific business application.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with four (4) years of experience with a minimum of one year performing configurations and modifications within the specific business application.
Salary Range

Business Systems Analyst 2 – $39.69–$64.41 Hourly | $82,555–$133,973 Annually

Business Systems Analyst 3 – $42.90–$69.63 Hourly | $89,232–$144,830 Annually
