Senior Engineer in Core Infrastructure Network Connectivity and Automation

Our team of engineers help support, build, and innovate our network connectivity and automation capabilities. We work with other engineers, implement, manage, support, troubleshoot, and improve all areas of network connectivity as well as collaborate with application/development teams. Technology solutions include Cisco & Fortinet routers, SDWAN, campus switch, remote site, data center and cloud infrastructure, multiple vendor wireless technologies, Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM, global and local load balancing solutions, security solutions to include firewalls, proxies, VPN, web application firewalls SSL decrypt, NAC, network monitoring and packet capture analysis, and cloud‑based computing solutions.
Engineers work on various squads with expertise and cross‑domain knowledge in remote site connectivity, data center connectivity, network security, telecom services, and tools and automation services.
- Deploy and maintain high‑performance, scalable network solutions for data centers, including core switches, edge routers, load balancers, and related equipment.
- Implement network automation solutions to streamline configuration management, provisioning, and monitoring.
- Leverage automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible) to simplify network management and increase operational efficiency.
- Assist in capacity planning, evaluating network performance, and identifying areas for improvement to scale the data‑center network.
- Stay current with emerging technologies such as SDN and network automation, evaluating their application to enhance operations.
- Lead and effectively triage complex issues across systems, primarily in the data center, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
- Actively participate in planning activities and contribute to strategic planning.
- Collaborate with staff and principal engineers.
- Configure, install, and support large enterprise platforms/products from start to finish.
- Advocate for industry standards and keep up with trends.
- Lead all phases of large capabilities or sets of products/processes.
- Ensure quality of one or more teams’ output.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve the SDLC, application support, reliability, and monitoring.
- Influence the broad architecture of multiple systems/processes.
- Maintain knowledge of evolving standards, platform features, and vendor technologies.
- Resolve highly complex issues, applying new approaches.
- Understand the consequences and risks of changes to systems/processes.
- Deliver projects on time and maintain accurate estimates.
- Own technical testing and performance of supported products/processes.
- Handle hard/complex debugging, triaging, incident response, and reverse‑engineering tasks.
- Provide feedback on products beyond the core area.
- 5 years of relevant experience OR bachelor’s or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field, OR appropriate industry certification(s) OR equivalent professional experience.
- 7–8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Industry certifications such as Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, AWS.
- Experience in a large global enterprise (1000+ sites).
- Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS and hybrid‑cloud expertise.
- Experience driving automation efforts.
- Development and architecture experience for network connectivity and security solutions.
