LHH is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Legal Assistant Floater to join our law firm client’s Litigation practice. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks for busy attorneys. If you have 2+ years of litigation experience in a law firm and you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, this position offers both a challenging opportunity and a rewarding workplace.

Essential

Job Functions
  • Prepare correspondence, memoranda, and court pleadings using a digital transcription application.
  • Serve and file litigation documents, including electronic filing with state and federal courts.
  • Provide administrative support such as scheduling meetings, handling routine correspondence, and arranging travel.
  • Review, organize, and distribute daily mail across multiple client matters.
  • Assist with and review shareholder timekeeper time entries, as appropriate.
  • Review and finalize client billing, as appropriate.
  • Maintain electronic and paper client files and ensure timely file openings.
  • Deliver quality, responsive customer service to clients and colleagues.
  • Provide docketing and calendaring support for litigation matters.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Prepare correspondence, legal documents, and agreements, including document comparisons, PDF manipulation, editing, scanning, and conversions.
  • Electronically file litigation pleadings and other documents with state, federal, and appellate courts — locally and nationally.
  • Manage docketing for court scheduling orders, briefing schedules, and other court‑mandated dates and conferences.
  • Maintain electronic client files, including pleadings, indices, and original client documents.
  • Review, edit, and finalize attorney and paralegal time entries; manage client invoices.
  • Provide comprehensive legal administrative support, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, conferences, and depositions, handling routine correspondence, and making travel arrangements.
  • Deliver quality, responsive customer service to clients, attorneys, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate dependability, accountability, and a strong work ethic with professionalism in all interactions.
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Work well under pressure with deadlines and maintain a sense of urgency.
  • Adapt to a fast‑paced environment with diverse personalities and work styles.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Effectively handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.
Qualifications
  • Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic, including dependability and accountability.
  • Excellent computer skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Superior grammar and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all written communications and document preparation.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively, meeting deadlines despite frequent interruptions and schedule changes.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively within a team and perform well under pressure, especially when handling court deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
  • Flexibility to work beyond 37.5 hours per week when necessary to meet workload demands and court deadlines.
