Role Overview

The Associate Chief of Staff, Office of the President serves as a trusted operational and strategic partner to the President of the Chamber. This role combines executive-level administrative support with strategic coordination, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional execution.

Reporting directly to the President, the Associate Chief of Staff ensures the President’s time, priorities, and engagements are managed effectively while advancing key initiatives across leadership, committees, and external partners. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual seeking exposure to executive leadership, public affairs, and nonprofit or chamber operations.

Key Responsibilities Executive & Calendar Management
  • Manage the President’s calendar, scheduling internal and external meetings with efficiency and discretion.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, briefing materials, and follow-ups.
  • Prioritize meeting requests based on strategic importance and time sensitivity.
  • Track action items, deadlines, and commitments on behalf of the President.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling and coordination with internal leaders and external stakeholders.
Strategic Engagement & Presidential Initiatives
  • Support execution of presidential priorities, initiatives, and strategic goals.
  • Prepare briefing notes, talking points, and summaries for meetings, forums, and public engagements.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating high-visibility engagements with business leaders, elected officials, and partner organizations.
  • Ensure follow-through on commitments and outcomes from strategic meetings.
  • Represent the Office of the President in meetings or working sessions as delegated.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Special Projects
  • Serve as a coordination hub between the Office of the President and Vice Presidents, Directors, committees, and volunteers.
  • Track progress across leadership portfolios and elevate risks or delays as needed.
  • Support planning and execution of Executive Committee and leadership meetings.
  • Assist with special projects, pilots, and new initiatives assigned by the President.
  • Maintain organized records of initiatives, decisions, and leadership communications.
Operations, Reporting & Administration
  • Prepare regular status updates, summaries, and dashboards for the President.
  • Maintain structured documentation, files, and institutional knowledge for the Office of the President.
  • Collaborate with communications, membership, and operations teams to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, coordination, and impact.
  • Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and sound judgment at all times.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled college student at Junior level or above, or recent graduate.
  • Strong interest in executive leadership, strategy, public affairs, nonprofit management, or business operations.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
  • Comfortable interacting with senior leaders, elected officials, and external partners.
  • Experience in executive support, student leadership, nonprofit work, chambers, or community organizations preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed in Business, Public Policy, Communications, Political Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
