Job Overview
The Transactions & Operations Strategy Director reports to Fairview's EVP, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. The role is responsible for leading, managing and supporting system‑wide transaction processes or other projects (e.g. M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, affiliations, etc.) from new idea generation and business case development through executive decision making, including due diligence and integration where appropriate. In addition, the role oversees the operations of the Legal Department, ensuring efficient and effective management of legal processes, and supports the legal team in achieving its strategic goals.
This position partners closely with senior leadership, operations, legal, finance and subject‑matter experts (SMEs) to achieve defined growth goals for transactions identified for senior leadership and the legal team for legal department operations.
- Lead, manage and support transaction activities and processes (e.g. M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, affiliations, etc.) as identified by senior leadership across the Fairview system.
- Support system‑level partnership activities and processes; assist in evaluating transactional growth opportunities, manage relationships with external stakeholders, and help establish business cases.
- Support negotiations with potential partners in conjunction with assigned senior leaders.
- Establish and manage transaction process and communications to visually manage transaction activities, ensuring they are completed successfully and according to agreed‑upon timelines.
- Develop and continuously improve tools and processes that support the evaluation of opportunities, and effective executive leadership prioritization and decision making.
- Assist the CAO and General Counsel in oversight of daily operations of the Legal Department, ensuring efficient workflows, retention, and resource allocation.
- Assist in managing the Legal Department's budget, including tracking outside counsel and other expenses, and recommending optimization of resource allocation.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and projects within the legal team and broader system, ensuring they align closely with organizational goals and objectives.
- Master's Degree.
- 5 years experience supporting systemwide strategic transaction processes, including M&A, strategic partnerships and/or affiliations.
- 3 years business operations experience, including vendor management and planning.
- Project management experience, including owning and advancing projects in a large matrixed organization.
- 5 years health care transaction experience.
- Legal operations experience.
