Works closely with production supervisor/manager in coordinating throughput and staff. This would include keeping track of production orders through the daily production schedule, keeping work synchronized and making sure all documentation released to the shop flow is thorough and accurate. Helps with the setup of equipment. Performs quality checks and routine preventative maintenance. Work with team members to maximize efficiency using the Lean Principles.

ROLE

& RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage daily production schedule through the work area(s) assigned
  • Keep work synchronized in order to maintain constant flow
  • Manage employee work assignments and provide ongoing oversight to ensure productivity and focus
  • Ensure compliance to standard work for manufacturing processes in the work area(s) assigned
  • Validate that production orders / documentation is accurate
  • Be aware of production runs to ensure the correct parts are made
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Perform frequent quality checks
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance
  • Work within all safety guidelines
  • Cross-train on relevant equipment / processes in the area
  • Keep workstations fully stocked with materials
  • Maintain kanbans and visual standards
  • Aid in identification of problems, escalating issues and concerns to the next level of support as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUREMENTS
  • Ability to read tape measurer, protractor and vernier caliper
  • Well organized
  • Leads by example (good attendance, positive attitude, high quality, high performance)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Is non-discriminatory and can work with a diverse workforce
  • Is proactive – Constantly thinking of ways to improve processes
  • Capable of reading blueprints
  • Comfortable with power tools/manual tools
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • High school or GED education
