Walman Optical, a division of Essilor Luxottica, has been delivering advanced vision solutions since 1915. We seek a dedicated Senior Production Technician to operate our high-capacity AR coating machines during the overnight shift, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • Operate large‑capacity AR coating machines, performing daily and weekly maintenance of vacuum coating chambers and related equipment.
  • Log all processes and maintenance activities accurately.
  • Prepare and load lenses into the AR coating machine, selecting the correct recipe and chemicals for each coating process.
  • Inspect lenses for accuracy, defects, and cosmetic standards, recording any scratches or issues.
  • Perform quality testing on finished products and conduct final inspections on batch‑coated lenses.
  • Troubleshoot machine/equipment problems and collaborate with the supervisor to resolve issues.
  • Pack completed work, review rejected lenses, re‑work or assign proper breakage codes, and sandblast machine parts as needed.
  • Follow standard procedures, recommending process improvements to reduce costs and eliminate non‑value‑added tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and uphold safety, attendance, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Assist colleagues with workload balance, provide training and technical guidance to less experienced employees, and attend training sessions as required.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned.
  • Work with or around hazardous chemicals, following necessary safety training and procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to multitask, orient to detail, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Physical capability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with a 15‑pound lift above the head.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision.
Compensation and Benefits

Pay starts at $18/hour, higher for experience, with an additional shift differential for overnight work. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and employee discounts.
