Careers that Change LivesWe are seeking a Sr. Communications Generalist who is a fast-moving perfectionist that thrives on change and executes with an unrelenting focus on quality. Reporting to the Communications Director, Global Functional Communications, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the creation, development, and execution of effective internal and external communication strategies. In this dynamic and varied role, your work will include communications strategy development, organizational change management communications, and employee engagement communications.
You’ll also ensure consistency of on‑brand messaging across internal communication channels, and enable a data‑driven strategy that drives our approach and enhancements. Your work will focus primarily on supporting one key function but will flex across functions based on business needs.
- Handles creating and implementing multiple forms of internal strategic communication activities, programs and content guided by the Medtronic Mission and overall business strategy.
- Leads strategies, produces content and organizes events to help align the organization’s goals in support of greater employee engagement and business impact.
- Generates comprehensive strategic plans that engage employees with the objectives, policies, Mission, and growth strategies of the company.
- Responsible for planning, storytelling, writing and editing to persuade, educate and inspire internal audiences to change behavior or understand the work environment.
- Supports senior leadership in communicating key change initiatives, policy changes and other company information to employees.
- Travel: up to 10%.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
- Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
- Familiarity with Linked In best practices, content formats, and basic analytics to support ongoing content optimization.
- Ability to research topics and draft clear, engaging thought leadership content that reflects a leader’s voice and point of view.
- Experience building and editing PowerPoint presentations using templates, style guides, and feedback from senior stakeholders.

Benefits & CompensationMedtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S. (excluding PR) locations: $82,400.00–$. This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
