The Donor Relations Director is a highly relational, passionate, and knowledgeable fundraiser for MnTC. This individual serves as a spokesperson and evangelist for the organization to individuals, families, businesses, and the greater community. The core purpose of the position is to attain new donors, retain existing donors, and encourage greater gifts to the organization with mid to major level donors in the Minneapolis area.
This role is primarily focused on cultivating, stewarding and soliciting this group while also utilizing expertise managing and collaborating on Development Projects, Capital Campaigns, and Legacy Giving.
Donor Relations:
- The Donor Relations team has three parts:
The Annual Fund leadership consists staff working with donors giving less than $2,000 annually. The Mid-level manager works with donors giving between $2,000 and $5,000 annually. The Major Gift Officers work with donors giving $5,000 or more annually. This position is focused on mostly mid and major level donors with a goal to attain new donors, retain existing donors, and encourage greater gifts to MnTC. - Manage a personal portfolio of 200 individual donor households.
- Personally engage with assigned donors and businesses on a regular basis to educate them about the ministry and new facilities as well as deepen their connections to MnTC and express gratitude.
- Invite and facilitate visits and tours for donors.
- Create opportunities to ensure maximum donor participation in relevant MnTC events.
- Secure gifts for fundraising goals and capital campaigns and legacy giving.
Women’s Impact Foundation (WIF)
- Assist in the leadership and execution of Women's Impact Foundation (WIF) events and communications, focusing on major opportunities that enhance organizational growth and long-term vitality among key constituent groups.
Donor Cultivation and Solicitation
- Creatively develop opportunities for introducing and attaining new donors.
- Work with the Strategic Partnerships team on projects that attain and retain major donors.
- Develop relationships to a point where an effective “ask” can be made for higher giving, capital projects and legacy giving.
Internal Collaboration
- Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in multiple departments/divisions.
- Manage Development Projects.
- Maintain effective communication and goal setting with the VP of Strategic Partnerships and all MnTC stakeholders.
- Maintain/update Raiser’s Edge database with donor and contact information.
Professional Growth
- Interface with community networking opportunities.
- Seek internal opportunities to personally interact with the ministry.
- Seek training to grow and enhance fundraising knowledge and awareness of best practices.

- 5+ years of Development or Professional (sales, marketing, business, etc.) experience
