Agency Description
Bolder Options is a transformational mentoring program operating in the Twin Cities and Rochester. Our mission is to “prepare youth to succeed in all of life’s races.” We recruit adult volunteer mentors and pair them with young people ages 10–14 in one-year mentoring relationships focused on physical, social, and emotional wellness.
Bolder Options also supports alumni through career and college exploration, leadership development, internships, scholarships, and more. In 2023, we celebrated 30 years of mentoring impact and continue to build pathways that support youth through adolescence and into early adulthood.
Position OverviewThe Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator advances the mission of Bolder Options by executing outreach, mentor recruitment, and volunteer engagement plans. This role focuses on front-end engagement, coordination, and execution—building pipelines of prospective mentors, corporate partners, and community volunteers and connecting them to meaningful opportunities with the organization.
While Program Coordinators retain primary responsibility for mentor screening, training, and match support, the Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator is cross‑trained in core mentor onboarding processes to provide backup coverage and ensure shared understanding of the full mentor journey. This role also serves as the primary coordinator for corporate, group, short‑term, and skills‑based volunteer pathways that support fundraising, program activities, alumni programming, and organizational capacity.
This position includes a regular evening and/or weekend work component (approximately one evening or weekend commitment per week) to support outreach activities, volunteer engagement, and events. Scheduling is balanced with flexibility and a generous time‑off policy.
