Vegetation Management Technician

Cannon Valley Graziers (CVG) is a land management company headquartered in southern Minnesota, with operations across the Central and Western United States. Our mission is to improve biodiversity, soil health, and water quality through targeted grazing and complementary vegetation‑management services. We work on large‑scale conservation and solar energy projects, delivering practical, environmentally responsible land‑management solutions.

We are seeking hardworking, motivated Vegetation Technicians to support our solar vegetation‑management operations in the upper Midwest. In this role, you will work as part of a field crew mowing utility‑scale solar sites. This is a hands‑on, outdoor position ideal for individuals with experience in landscaping, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to teamwork, communication, and job‑site safety.

• Equipment Operation: Perform mowing duties with attention to quality and safety.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform mandatory daily tailgate inspections (oil, coolant, tires, hydraulic lines).

• Incident Communication: Communicate to Crew Lead any safety incidents, near misses, and equipment damage regardless of cause.
• Hazard Communication: Alert the Crew Lead of ground hazards (washouts, mud etc.)
• Environmental Hazards: Maintain awareness and take precautions to protect against potential hazards including weather, heat and other environmental conditions.

Education

• Must be able to read and interpret written and verbal instructions in English (some accommodations can be made to support non‑native English speakers).

Experience and Skills

• 2+ years of experience in a related field;
• Must be able to work well in a team of operators with a positive attitude.
• Must have the endurance to perform duties over a long period of time in variable weather conditions.
