Animal Husbandry Technician Job Description
The technician in this role is responsible for the care and maintenance of animal patients used in research and development studies. The technician supports the preclinical team by ensuring the health and well‑being of the patients and maintaining a clean and secure animal facility.
Responsibilities- Care for animals used in research and development studies.
- Feed and care for animals, clean cages, and maintain animal housing areas.
- Hold animals for treatment by laboratory technicians.
- Maintain inventory and animal identification records.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation of the animal facility and equipment.
- Ensure biosafety and biosecurity of the animals.
- Assist and support veterinarians and preclinical investigators with surgeries, dosing, postoperative care, and monitoring of animal studies.

Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ months of animal handling experience
- High school diploma
- AALAS Certification
- Previous animal research/care experience
The shifts for this role are Tuesday to Saturday from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with some overtime likely. Training hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm. The role involves working in a preclinical setting with rabbits, pigs, sheep, and dogs.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
