Unidine is hiring immediately for a full‑time SOUS CHEF position.
Location:
Hayden Grove Senior Living – 8715 Portland Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55420.
Schedule:
Full‑time with open availability. Hours and days may vary; further details will be provided during the interview.
Requirement:
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Pay: $25.00–$28.00 per hour.
Job SummaryHelps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods. Coordinates the activities of cooks and other food‑service associates. Assumes responsibility for the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring deadlines are met based on production orders.
- Supervises hourly food‑service associates: interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participation in performance reviews, and recommending disciplinary action where appropriate.
- Stores food in designated areas in accordance with corporate, state, and federal food‑safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
- Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; cleans workstations thoroughly before leaving the area; keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner and relays relevant information to the supervisor.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
- Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
- Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks product production, consumption and waste, and informs the supervisor when supplies or products are low.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
