Sous Chef

Unidine is hiring immediately for a full‑time SOUS CHEF position.

Location:

Hayden Grove Senior Living – 8715 Portland Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55420.

Schedule:

Full‑time with open availability. Hours and days may vary; further details will be provided during the interview.

Requirement:
Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Pay: $25.00–$28.00 per hour.

Helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods. Coordinates the activities of cooks and other food‑service associates. Assumes responsibility for the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence.

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring deadlines are met based on production orders.
• Supervises hourly food‑service associates: interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participation in performance reviews, and recommending disciplinary action where appropriate.
• Stores food in designated areas in accordance with corporate, state, and federal food‑safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; cleans workstations thoroughly before leaving the area; keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner and relays relevant information to the supervisor.
• Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks product production, consumption and waste, and informs the supervisor when supplies or products are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
