Basic

Purpose:

The Bartender serves guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of wine, spirits, and mixed drinks as well as information regarding preparation methods.

• Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and Four Seasons Standards.
• Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the lounge server using the hotel’s point‑of‑sales system; check completed orders with the guest’s original order.
• Serve and take orders from guests seated at the pool bar area offering interesting, vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beets, ports, armagnacs, eau de vie, cognacs and specialty drinks.
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.
• Serve food items in the bar area.
• Assist with bar inventory.
• Cut fruit and prepare beverage garnishments.
• Comply with Four Seasons Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co‑workers and supervisors.

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years bartending or related work.
• Ability to pour, mix, and blend a wide variety of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks.
• Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends & holidays.
• TIPS & Serv Safe certified.
