Utilizing a full‑service kitchen, the Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and incorporating special dietary needs into the menu for clients in a residential treatment facility. The Cook maintains food safety and kitchen cleanliness standards, keeps a professional and friendly relationship with residential and outpatient program clients, works split‑shift hours when required, and maintains client confidentiality in accordance with state guidelines and HIPAA.

• Age 18 or older
• Able to pass a Minnesota DHS background study
• Physical demands: daily use of computer, phone, and kitchen equipment; ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, frequent reaching, bending and stooping; navigate steps, doorways, and facilities
• Broad cooking skills in various venues with regard to the preparation and serving of nutritional meals on a full service, three meal a day basis
• Working knowledge of kitchen operating procedures, including food handling and cleanliness following Safe Serv practices
• Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English; able to effectively document services in writing formatted in English

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years related experience preparing food in a “scratch” kitchen
• Previous experience in an addiction treatment residential facility
• Safe Serv Certification
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work on a team
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
• Minnesota Driver’s License without restrictions
