Overview
Walker Methodist Shared Services seeks a Chef/Kitchen Manager to prepare high-quality meals according to therapeutic diets/preferences, manage food orders/inventory, customer service satisfaction, adhere to budget guidelines and supervise cooks. The Chef/Kitchen Manager must be willing to regularly travel to all Walker Methodist communities in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Full-time days, Monday through Friday including every other weekend.
Responsibilities- Prepare high-quality meals according to therapeutic diets and preferences.
- Manage food orders and inventory.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and uphold service standards.
- Adhere to budget guidelines and supervise cooks.
- Travel to all Walker Methodist communities in St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Minimum qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts
- Serv Safe certification and/or Food Manager's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Working knowledge of food preparation methods and terminology
- Three years experience as a culinary supervisor in the food industry
- Ability to effectively lead and develop cooks, dishwashers and waitstaff

Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts
- Culinary supervisor in an assisted living or long-term care environment
- Cook-to-order and restaurant-style dining experience
