Chef​/Kitchen Manager, Senior Living

Overview

Walker Methodist Shared Services seeks a Chef/Kitchen Manager to prepare high-quality meals according to therapeutic diets/preferences, manage food orders/inventory, customer service satisfaction, adhere to budget guidelines and supervise cooks. The Chef/Kitchen Manager must be willing to regularly travel to all Walker Methodist communities in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Full-time days, Monday through Friday including every other weekend.

• Prepare high-quality meals according to therapeutic diets and preferences.
• Manage food orders and inventory.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and uphold service standards.
• Adhere to budget guidelines and supervise cooks.
• Travel to all Walker Methodist communities in St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Minimum qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Culinary Arts
• Serv Safe certification and/or Food Manager's license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Working knowledge of food preparation methods and terminology
• Three years experience as a culinary supervisor in the food industry
• Ability to effectively lead and develop cooks, dishwashers and waitstaff

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts
• Culinary supervisor in an assisted living or long-term care environment
• Cook-to-order and restaurant-style dining experience
