Description
Under direction of the Recreation Facility Supervisor and Guest Service Manager, provide admission to the pool through receiving cash admissions and/or checking season ticket. In addition, the cashier sells season tickets to patrons and checks in group rentals. To accurately balance cash register against the days business. The cashier is a public relation position and must provide helpful, courteous service to the public.
$16.25 - $17.25/hour. Applications will be accepted through the closing date listed, with interviews being held as applications come in. We encourage applicants to apply early.
Examples of Duties
Administrative
Complete all cash transactions on a cash register.
Keep an accurate count of people entering the pool.
Know all pool information: hours, dates, prices, restrictions, ages, refunds. etc.
Balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
Complete all paperwork and bank deposit forms accurately and submit them to the manager.
Light cleaning and janitorial duties.
Public Relations
Be friendly, helpful, and cheerful to the public and other staff.
Typical Qualifications
Knowledge of cash register operation, balancing cash register, filling out reports.
Experience in working with money.
Minimum age 16.

Must act in a decisive manner, using good judgement. Must be able to assess problems and situations, able to anticipate needs, evaluate alternatives and use discipline as needed. Must have a knowledge of the use of available resources, including a thorough knowledge of programs, facilities and their characteristics. Ability to work independently. Ability to understand and work in a safe manner.
Must be able to read and understand directions.

Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and public. Must exclude personal biases from work performance. Must have the ability to work the assigned areas and hours.

Technical Knowledge:
Knowledge and understanding of a money handling operation, including operation of a cash regisater, making change, basic accounting principles,filling out and bank deposit forms.
Physical Abilities:
Normal vision needed with or without correction. Capable of reaching (extending the hands or arms in any direction); handling (seizing, holding, grasping, turning and otherwise working with the hands); and fingering (picking, pinching, or otherwise working with the
fingers).
Extent of Supervision or Guidance Provided:
Will have training session. Must be able to work independently. Supervised by Pool Manager.
Responsibility for Public Contact:
Heavy public contact with citizens in the community.

None.
