Outside Sales Representative - Industrial Distribution - Total Compensation to 100k/year - Minneapolis, MN

  • Our client is an industrial supply distributor that has been in business for over 40 years. They are headquartered in the Minneapolis, MN area. They supply all types of industrial hoses (hydraulic, metal, PVC, and more) to several industries including construction, agriculture, food & beverage, oil & gas, and more.
  • They are in search of an Outside Sales Representative for the Twin Cities territory. The position will be based in their Minneapolis branch and will cover Minneapolis and St Paul.
Responsibilities
  • Generate and develop new customer accounts, including cold calling if necessary.
  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and build a network of referrals.
  • Perform professional on-site presentations and demonstrations.
  • Emphasize product features/benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales orders.
  • Overcome objections from prospective customers.
  • Actively manage a call schedule to efficiently cover the assigned territory.
  • Maintain accurate records, including sales call reports and expenses.
  • Utilize a CRM for weekly call reports and travel planning.
  • Assist in creating RFP (Request for Proposal) responses.
  • Prepare an annual marketing plan.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in achieving sales goals.
  • Requires 2+ years of strong industrial sales experience.
  • Education:

    An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent; OR 1+ years of related experience/training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires strong problem‑solving and client service skills (managing difficult situations).
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, CRM).
Compensation
  • Total compensation to $100,000 per year (or more), comprised of a base salary and guaranteed commission.
  • Full benefit package.
  • 401(k) with a 4% match on a 5% contribution.
  • Monthly car allowance.
