Security Service Technician 1 — Minneapolis, MN
Join Convergint as a full‑time, enthusiastic, results‑driven Security Service Technician. You will be part of a dynamic team that values growth, accountability, and delivering world‑class service to customers, colleagues, and communities.
Responsibilities- Respond to routine and non‑routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance, emergency and after‑hours service, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing defective parts, and debugging systems.
- Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
- Perform preventative maintenance for installed systems and assist in the installation and support of new security projects.
- Provide custom systems integrations, detailed upgrade planning, system audits, consultations, and database management as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service reports for invoicing and job cost tracking.
- Collaborate with team members to improve overall operations and uphold federal, state, and local regulations and company safety policies.
- Execute service calls in compliance with all applicable regulations and health and safety policies.
- Assist in cross‑training and support of other specialists on service calls and small projects.
- High School/GED or equivalent experience.
- Developed customer focus, ability to work under pressure, and the determination to meet customer needs.
- Technical skills in building automation, fire alarm, and/or electronic security systems.
- Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and develop solutions.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers).
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Preferred 1–3 years of relevant experience or experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
