Wages and Benefits

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour; $1,000 hiring bonus after 3 months of employment;
Generous paid time off, plus 10 paid holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance; health savings account (HSA), and options for flexible spending accounts (FSA). There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short and long-term disability insurance. TFP sponsors a retirement plan with a tiered vesting schedule based on years of service, plus a 2% employer contribution after one year of service.

SCHEDULE

This position works during normal business hours and may include some evening hours. It includes travel to clients' homes, schools, and other metro locations, and it may include the use of a personal vehicle to do so.

The Family Partnership is hiring a Parent Educator to assist parents with cognitive limitations that adversely affect their parenting skills. The Parent Educator will help identify their strengths, develop goals, and connect them to community resources to create positive changes for parents and their children.

Responsibilities
  • Helping recruit and enroll eligible families, and preparing meaningful, developmentally appropriate instructional materials for parents and children.
  • Managing a supportive caseload of 10-12 families and providing consistent home visits each month.
  • Planning and leading weekly home visits, facilitating parenting groups, and coordinating medical screenings and community activities that enrich family wellbeing.
  • Tracking family progress, ensuring follow-through on educational goals, and supporting discussions during group sessions.
  • Building strong relationships through parent interviews, family needs assessments, and child developmental screenings and assessments.
  • Using an evidence-based curriculum to strengthen child development, parent development, and overall family wellbeing.
  • Coaching families on connecting with social service agencies and accessing the support they need.
  • Sharing essential information with parents on childhood immunizations, home safety, nutrition, discipline, and constructive play.
  • Providing developmentally appropriate activities and guidance to support children's intellectual, social-emotional, motor, and language growth.
  • Teaching parents about child development stages, positive parenting techniques, and injury prevention through discussion, videos, and role-play activities.
  • Assisting families with childcare enrollment processes and applications for financial assistance.
  • Supporting families through a smooth and well-planned transition when they complete services.
  • Keeping accurate, timely records and documentation in alignment with agency and contract requirements.
  • Managing and organizing parent resource materials to ensure families have access to helpful tools and information.
  • Advocating for families by identifying needed services, making referrals, and ensuring follow-through based on developmental assessments and observations.
  • Coordinating engaging parent meetings and workshops focused on child health, mental health, and development.
  • Helping families navigate doctor and dental appointments, community resources, and other identified needs-occasionally providing transportation when necessary.
  • Supporting parents in establishing consistent medical and dental homes to promote long-term access to quality care.
Who You Are
