We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Java expertise and full‑stack engineering experience to join our team. In this role, you’ll contribute across all layers of the stack: designing and maintaining robust backend systems, and collaborating with frontend teams building shopper‑facing applications and embedded JavaScript SDKs.

This position requires hands‑on experience in Java and deep proficiency in either metrics transparency & real‑time monitoring or web scraping ’ll be expected to hit the ground running in one or both of these domains.

• Design, implement, and maintain high‑performance, scalable backend systems using Java and other modern technologies.
• Lead initiatives focused on real‑time monitoring, metrics transparency, or data ingestion/web scraping—ensuring reliability, accuracy, and performance.
• Collaborate with frontend developers building SPA (Single Page Application) JavaScript/HTML interfaces and embedded JavaScript SDKs.
• Manage AWS deployments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency of our infrastructure.
• Implement and optimize APIs that enable CPG brands to engage shoppers directly, offering real‑time inventory and purchasing options powered by state‑of‑the‑art product matching and store‑level inventory acquisition.
• Leverage Git Hub PR workflows and CI/CD pipelines in a multi‑repository environment to ensure seamless development and deployment.
• Work closely with stakeholders to deliver shopper‑first marketing tools and data solutions that drive engagement and sales.

• 5+ years of experience writing idiomatic, production‑level code in Java (required) and experience with one or more of:
  JavaScript, Golang, Python, Scala, or Ruby.
• Strong judgment in selecting the right frameworks and tools for the job.
• A disciplined approach to testing, monitoring, and alerting, with a focus on operational excellence.
• Deep experience building resilient, scalable backend systems using modern architectures (HTTP REST, Graph
  
  QL, stream processing, big data pipelines, etc.).
• Expertise or hands‑on experience in metrics transparency, real‑time monitoring systems, or web scraping pipelines.
• Strong experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP) and SaaS concepts.
• Proven ability to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot production systems.
