Firmware Design Engineer

We’re looking for a Firmware Design Engineer to support our SJE Rhombus brand, based in New Hope, MN
.

• Assist in the development of firmware for various electronic hardware, from pump control to smart energy solutions and other emerging technologies.
• Develop and debug firmware for embedded controllers following R&D team standards and principles.
• Collaborate closely with the hardware team to debug circuit boards and ensure product compliance with agency testing.
• Participate in a project team environment with internal and external customers to create new products or improve existing ones.
• Occasionally develop mobile applications (smartphones, tablets, PCs) for panel and alarm products.

• 4‑year degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 1–2 years of experience in embedded systems development.
• Proficiency with Embedded C (with or without a Real‑Time Operating System).
• Experience debugging embedded systems.
• Knowledge of I2C, UART, SPI interfaces and UI/UX development.
• Experience with Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and other wireless protocols.

• Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
• Paid Time Off and holidays: Up to 120 hours of PTO in the first year and 8 paid holidays.
• Starting salary: $68,000 – $78,000 / yr (Associate level) or $85,000 – $97,000 / yr (Engineer level) depending on experience.
