The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board's (MPRB) Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring the facilities and activities at the beaches, water parks, and pools. Lifeguards will communicate and enforce rules/regulations in a personable and professional manner. Working under the direct supervision of the full‑time Aquatics staff and the Head Lifeguards, the Lifeguard ensures the safety of patrons in and around the aquatic facilities and follows their training when responding to any incidents.
WorkHours
This position works 5–25 hours per week, part‑time. Varied working hours including 11:30 am–8:30 pm, Monday–Saturday. Must be able to work the entire season and attend in‑service trainings (November–May).
Required Certifications- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard
- First Aid
- CPR
- AED Certification
- Experience lifeguarding at a pool, beach, or waterpark.
