Responsibilities:
- Teach various levels and age groups in accordance with the site’s instructional guidelines
- Plan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate students’ progress
- Present proper demonstrations, explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devices
- Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment
- Attend all in‑service trainings
- Maintain accurate records and prepare course completion certificates
- Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught at all levels
- Effectively communicate each student’s progress to the student or to the student’s parents, where appropriate
- Project and promote a professional image
- Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons
- Other tasks as assigned
Ideal Candidate will have:
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain them at the time of hire
- Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain it at the time of hire
- Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons preferred but not required
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Compensation: $15.00–$20.00 per hour (rates vary by locality and experience). Full‑time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Part‑time employees may be eligible for selected benefits.
