Head Softball Coach, Senior Woman Administrator
This position reports directly to the Head Softball Coach and is also under the direction of the Director of Athletics. Athletics plays an important role in the life of the campus by enhancing the learning experience for student-athletes, creating opportunities for community unity, publicly demonstrating the College’s values and mission, and contributing to the achievement of enrollment goals. The applicant will support the College’s Mission and Vision and will strictly adhere to NCAA, CCIW, and institutional rules.

Job Duties
The graduate assistant will develop skills in event management for competitions, marketing and promotions, leadership, communication, and decision-making. Additional duties will be assigned based on the assistant’s strengths and program needs.
Essential Functions- Recruiting:
Identify outstanding student‑athlete candidates for North Central College. - Develop relationships with recruited student-athletes and parents/guardians.
- Build relationships with high‑school/club coaches, teachers, alumni, and others who can aid in recruitment.
- Organize, coordinate, and delegate recruiting tasks, including correspondence via mail, email, telephone, social media, and other forms as needed.
- Maintain the recruiting database and research data needed for scouting reports and recruiting.
- Work closely with the Admissions Office on all recruiting activities.
- Compliance Oversight:
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of NCAA and conference regulations and assist in adherence to them. - Sport Teaching:
Support the Head Coach in developing a strong sense of team within the Softball program, Athletics department, and College. - Assist in organized practice sessions.
- Model and foster appropriate sportsmanship, competitiveness, and humility.
- Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College.
- Experience playing or coaching softball or athletic administrative experience.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or eligibility to become current.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
- Experience in college athletics strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record strongly preferred.
20 hours per week during the academic year, excluding academic breaks.
