Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support daily financial operations for a manufacturing organization near New Ulm, Minnesota. This position plays an important role in keeping payables and receivables organized, accurate, and up to date while contributing to a smooth month-end process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming supplier invoices by reviewing account coding, confirming required approvals, and organizing supporting records for audit readiness.
• Coordinate payment activity to help ensure vendors are paid within expected timelines and investigate discrepancies with both internal departments and outside partners.
• Record customer receipts each day, post cash accurately to the appropriate accounts, and prepare outgoing invoices and account statements.
• Monitor tax-related transactions and assist with calculating, tracking, and submitting sales tax obligations correctly.
• Apply finance charges when applicable and help maintain accurate customer account balances.
• Assist with balance sheet and account reconciliations and contribute to monthly closing tasks by preparing documentation and resolving variances.
• Keep accounting forms, process instructions, and related documentation current to support consistency and compliance.
• Recommend workflow enhancements and participate in carrying out process improvements that strengthen efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide additional accounting support and complete special assignments as business needs require.
