Role SummaryAccount Managers (AMs) deliver day‑to‑day client support, serve as the primary point of contact for all plan‑related questions, and ensure seamless service and timely resolution of client inquiries.
Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day client support and address immediate needs.
- Serve as the face of Alerus, delivering top‑tier customer service and leveraging internal knowledge.
- Act as the primary point of contact (“quarterback”) for plan‑related questions.
- Utilize Salesforce to route inquiries to appropriate teams within Alerus Retirement and Benefits.
- Maintain close oversight of all open items related to assigned plans, ensuring timely resolution and consistent client satisfaction.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with a portfolio of clients.
- Track account activity and update CRM tools and documentation regularly.
- Coordinate with internal teams (sales, operations, support) to ensure client needs are met.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in defined contribution plans.
- Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential strongly recommended.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Mindset focused on continuous improvement and process enhancements.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and set priorities.
Base salary $50,000 – $85,000 per year, plus bonus and incentive opportunities. Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life, long‑term disability, 401(k), ESOP, and generous paid time off. Learning and development resources with advancement opportunities.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed in an office setting. Employees regularly sit for extended periods and may lift or move supplies up to 20 lbs as needed.
