Early Childhood Behavior Assistant

We’re looking for a caring and enthusiastic Behavior Assistant to join our Junior Explorers preschool team, working with 3-5 year olds! In this role, you’ll work one-on-one with a child who needs extra support to engage in daily routines and activities. You’ll help create a positive, inclusive classroom experience that allows every child to thrive.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and is interested in early childhood education, behavioral support, or special education.

• Support one preschool-aged child in daily classroom activities and transitions.
• Provide gentle guidance and supervision during structured and unstructured play.
• Model and reinforce positive behavior and social skills.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher and classroom team to promote a nurturing, safe environment.
• Assist with creating an engaging and inclusive learning experience for all children.

• Background in early childhood or classroom support. (Preferred)
• Experience working with young children, especially those with special needs or behavioral challenges.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A friendly, patient, and compassionate personality.
• Reliability, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Physical requirements, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Starting at $21.94/hour.
• Medical & Dental Benefits Eligible.

• Minnetonka Community Education Center (MCEC).
• FT, Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–5:30 PM.
