Long Term 7th and 10th Grade English Teacher

Location: Aitkin

Aitkin School District # 0001 is looking for a Long Term English Teacher Substitue from 7:30 - 3:30 Monday - Friday. This person will work with students in grades 7 and 10 in English for the  School Year from November 20, 2026 to April 12, 2027. Candidates must be able to work with many different levels of students and collaborate with team members.

Candidates must be able to develop lessons and experiences for students at all levels and support each students' education in developing English skills.
Job Summary

• Teach English courses at the high school level, following Minnesota state standards.
• Develop engaging lesson plans that promote language acquisition, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance learning.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Participate in professional development and school activities as required.
• Establish and maintain high standards for the educational experience of students.

Qualifications

• Current MN English Licensure preferred. (All applicants with a 4 year degree are encourage to apply)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Able to work cooperatively with staff
• Experience in working with students in grades 7-12
