The Tech One Program (TOP) is a structured career development program for entry-level wind technicians, developed in partnership with industry leaders Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas.

Job Summary:

The TOP Wind Service Technicians will receive specialized wind safety and technical training accredited by the Global Wind Organization (GWO). The role involves working at a wind site near your home, performing maintenance on wind turbines to ensure safety and efficiency. You will report to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician. Responsibilities include preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine equipment, primarily focusing on machinery used in power generation.

Certification to work inside cabinets or controllers requires supervision by a certified Electrical Technician. Additional duties may be assigned to meet customer needs and support Sky Climber’s mission and values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time
• High School Diploma / GED and an Associate Degree in Mechanical or Wind Energy from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic industries
• Successful completion of safety and technical training, including First Aid, CPR, Fall Protection, Tower Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, LOTO, and other required training
• Background check and drug screening clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb 300-foot wind turbines multiple times daily
• Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces
• Meet weight requirements of 250-300 lbs including PPE
• Ability to handle repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs
• Successful completion of climb and rescue training

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety procedures
• Perform mechanical installations, maintenance, and upgrades
• Ensure work complies with customer requirements
• Document work and report violations
• Report progress and repair or replace parts as needed
• Use tools safely and work independently when required
• Travel up to 25% and work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends
• Work at heights and in various weather conditions
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
