Mac Gregor is a leading provider of integrated cargo and load handling solutions for the maritime industry. Our equipment is installed on more than half of vessels worldwide, enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability for shipowners and operators. We pride ourselves on delivering world‑class support to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment and are seeking a Trainee, Mechanical Engineering who shares our commitment to exceptional service.

This role is part of our Merchant and Solutions Division. Reporting directly to the Manager Mechanical Engineering. The position will be on‑site in Mac Gregor’s office in Kaarina, Finland and is scheduled for May–August 2026.
More tasks and responsibilities- Provide support for ongoing design projects to ensure their progress and timely delivery
- Contribute to the development of innovative design tools and internal guidelines to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
- Collaborate closely with design partners, fostering strong working relationships and ensuring alignment with project goals
- Depending on workload, offer assistance to cross‑functional teams such as R&D, tendering, and control systems to ensure seamless integration across all phases of the project

What you’ll need to succeed- A relevant engineering degree, such as in mechanical or materials engineering, with preferably two years of completed studies
- Advanced in 2D & 3D CAD software
- Technical approach with strong problem‑solving skills and an innovative mindset
- Ability to multitask and work in a team
- Fluent in verbal and written English
