Position Summary:
The Finance & Accounting Manager oversees all daily transactional finance operations while strengthening financial infrastructure. Responsibilities include AR/AP, credit decisions, billing accuracy, collections, cash management, bank reconciliation, onboarding, financial controls, team leadership, and cross-functional alignment. This leader partners closely with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, KPI development, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives, managing the department’s financial scorecard and driving continuous improvement.
The role is part of the management team and collaborates regularly with Operations, Commercial, and Executive leadership. This role is essential in creating the financial transparency, discipline, and scalability needed for Stone Arch’s continued growth.
Core Accountabilities (EOS Accountability Chart Utilized):
- Financial Operations Leadership
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable a 6-person finance and accounting team to achieve departmental and company objectives.
- Ensure accurate, timely billing and financial transactions.
- Oversee exception management for billing, cash receipts, and carrier/vendor payments.
- Manage AR, collections, credit decisions, and customer onboarding; eventually payroll.
- Maintain departmental SOPs and scalable workflows.
- Drive accuracy and quality of customer invoice products.
- Cash Management & Working Capital Performance
- Oversee daily cash disbursements to carriers and vendors.
- Complete daily bank reconciliation and ensure cash visibility.
- Improve AR aging performance and reduce DSO.
- Monitor credit risk and support customer contract reviews.
- Budgeting, Forecasting, Administration & Strategic Support
- Support annual budgeting processes.
- Assist with forecasting models, scenario planning, and financial analysis.
- Partner with the CFO on strategic initiatives tied to operational efficiency, technology improvement, and growth planning.
- Select Administrative & Human Resources responsibilities including, but not limited to: onboarding, offboarding, annual open enrollment and benefits administration.
- Participate department manager weekly meetings.
- Process Improvement & Technology Enablement
- Identify and execute improvements in workflows, automation, efficiency, and internal controls.
- Partner cross-functionally to reduce friction between finance, sales, and operations.
- Elevate financial processes to support scale, accuracy, and speed.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of finance-related technology.
- Maintain and evolve financial dashboards and KPI scorecards.
- Partner with CFO to analyze trends, variances, and business drivers.
- Provide insight and recommendations for improving profitability, efficiency, and financial controls.
