Since 1922, Kittson Healthcare has proudly provided continuous service to the citizens of Kittson County and surrounding areas. Today, we are a 12-bed acute care federally designated Critical Access Hospital and a 50-bed long-term care facility, which also includes a home healthcare agency, an 8-bed assisted living facility, and ambulance services. Our campus includes a medical clinic in Hallock and a satellite clinic in Karlstad, MN.

Job SummaryThe Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment across Kittson Healthcare’s clinics, hospital, and long-term care settings. This position plays a vital role in promoting health and safety by ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.
Primary Responsibilities- Cleaning and sanitizing patient/resident rooms, restrooms, hallways, and public/common areas
- Maintaining cleanliness in administrative and clinical offices
- Following infection control protocols and safety procedures
- Properly disposing of waste, including biohazardous materials
- Operating and maintaining cleaning tools and equipment
- Managing cleaning supplies and adhering to usage guidelines
- Restocking housekeeping carts and cleaning supply storage areas
- Adhering to confidentiality and privacy regulations for residents and patients
- Support set up and cleanup for special facility events or meetings, as needed
- Assisting with laundry duties as needed
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Strong communication skills to interact with staff, patients, and visitors
- Understanding of healthcare cleaning standards and sanitation protocols
- Familiarity with infection prevention measures and OSHA safety regulations
- Knowledge of handling and disposing of biohazardous waste
- Competency with cleaning tools, products, and equipment
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Commitment to confidentiality and resident/patient privacy
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- One (1) year of general housekeeping experience preferred
- Must pass a Minnesota background check and fingerprinting
- TB test required within the first 3 weeks of employment
- Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | Monday - Friday
- Every third weekend and holiday rotation required
