This position performs human resources-related duties at the professional level as well as day-to-day human resource operations and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, labor relations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Partner with the management team to understand and execute Voyager’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Manage and revise procedures for hiring, disciplinary actions, and firing.
- Assist employees with personnel information and interpretation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits:
- Research and propose competitive compensation programs to ensure Voyager attracts and retains top talent.
- Work with broker to ensure insurance offerings are competitive
- Maintain employee handbook/personnel policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; ensure all mandated reporting is completed timely and accurately.
- Maintain and coordinate employee recognition
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Voyager Fun Force.
- Review applications and interview applicants to match experience with specific job related requirements; interview, screen and recruit job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job
- Facilitate or provide training (including orientation) to the workforce.
- Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations.
- Represent the company for any unemployment
- Administer Short Term Disability and FMLA.
- Maintain employee information.
- Special projects as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources and 2-3 years of Human Resources experience required or equivalent related experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Knowledge of procedures for recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- Ability to think critically, exercise good judgment, and make sound decisions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in both one-on-one and group settings. This includes giving presentations to larger groups.
- Able to maintain data privacy and confidentiality.
- Display flexibility to meet organization’s unique needs and to be productive in an environment with regular interruptions. Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Perform duties in a manner consistent with safety principles, and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards associated with the position and organization.
- Complete required trainings mandated for position and for working at Voyager Industries.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Works with Accounting and Safety to coordinate and ensure HR related issues are appropriately managed.
PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed in office and manufacturing environments and requires regular presence on production floors and travel between Voyager locations. The position may be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, welding operations, moving equipment, temperature changes, and other conditions typical of a manufacturing environment. Required PPE must be worn when applicable. The position requires frequent communication, computer use, multiple concurrent tasks, decision-making, and work under deadlines.
