Base pay range

$22.00/hr - $26.00/hr

A Welder I is responsible for entry‑level assembly, securing and welding metal parts using a pulse MIG and/or TIG welder, operating overhead hoists or cranes, and using hand tools appropriate for the job. They will read and interpret blueprints of a complex nature, fabricate and weld metal components according to specifications with little supervision, and apply appropriate welding techniques to produce quality welds.

• Follow blueprints to create quality products.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise on the shop floor and confer with supervisors and production personnel to resolve problems, keeping projects moving forward for the best outcome.
• Prepare products to be welded by reading blueprints and utilizing fixturing.
• Ensure all equipment is in good repair, properly set up, and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use, including mandatory PPE.
• Responsible for identifying and moving all finished products to the proper location within the shop using a forklift, if trained.
• Operate manual wire feed welders and automatic welders while utilizing appropriate welding wire, heat, arc, speed, depth, and weld bead size.
• Proficient welds in all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead, and down.
• Perform inspections as required by standards.

• MIG and/or TIG welding experience required. Pulse welding experience preferred.
• Prior fabrication background preferred.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance from various positions.
• Ability to use cranes and hoists.
• Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, layout, and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
