Job Summary The Welder is responsible for operating welding equipment to build high quality parts, subassemblies, and finished product; weldments vary in type, size, and direction and are performed on a variety of production lines. The Welder will also weld/rework various products and perform different weld techniques including flat, vertical, overhead positions, and rework raw and/or finished products.

• Heat and form metal parts and components using hand tools, torch, plasma cutter and other welding equipment; properly position material/parts to be welded.
• Operate an overhead crane to maneuver parts safely into place; adjust welding current to proper weld configurations.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards; use practices to follow all safe procedures in assembling and testing of all models/products in assigned job function.
• Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands.
• Position, assemble, and weld various metal parts properly as outlined on blueprints.
• Operate robot/Tube welder and work in all workstations within weld area; startup operation and troubleshoot.
• Rework raw material, finished machines, and out of process welding activities.

• Passed weld test either through pre-employment test or through internal weld program.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Understanding of quality defects within weld on products.
• Ability to read and use measuring devices.
• Six (6) months of applicable position experience.
• Ability effectively perform job tasks within one station with little to no quality defects or guidance.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to change.

• Internal and external contacts, communication skills, decision making, problem solving and judgment.

• Physical Demands:
  Standing, Walking, Sitting, Reaching, Hearing, Talking, Visual, Typing; lifting/carrying 25 lbs.
• Non-Physical Demands:
  Analysis, Reasoning, Communication, Math, Reading, Writing.
• Environmental Demands:
  Dust, Temperature extremes, Loud noises.
