Job TitlePrinting 1st Press Operator
ShiftNights 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Sunday night 11:00 PM – Friday morning 7:00 AM)
WageStarting at $36.59 per hour with automatic raises every 6 months to reach top pay, then annual raises thereafter.
Position PurposeOperates assigned and support equipment including extruders, printers, metalizers, laminators, cutters, and gluers in a safe and efficient manner. Perform make-ready and ensure production and quality levels meet established standards. Independent judgment is required.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Observe safety rules and practices; monitor area for hazards and secure area during emergencies.
- Be proficient in all 2nd Pressman duties and remain proficient in all Press Operator duties.
- Ensure product quality, production efficiency, and scrap rates meet standards; actively support quality control procedures (including SAP).
- Operate equipment safely and manage shift production; direct activities of team when required.
- Identify and resolve process and equipment problems; pursue continuous improvement.
- Notify management of potential problems and propose solutions.
- Prepare accurate production, inventory, and material usage reports.
- Perform and direct make-ready on assigned equipment; perform preventive maintenance as required.
- Demonstrate professional work habits and train new employees in operating procedures.
- Maintain general housekeeping; comply with facility food safety, food defense, GMP, sanitation policies, and 5S standards.
- Support GPI’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned; strive to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
- Stop any process not meeting food safety or customer quality requirements when necessary.
Frequent/strenuous physical effort required (e.g., lifting, moving heavy objects). Noise, fumes, and hazardous chemicals may be present. GPI operates 7 days a week; overtime may be required.
