We are seeking applicants for a Machinist in our International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.
Responsibilities- Work as part of a team in support of a paper manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.
- Ability to create, interpret, and read prints for fabrication of components.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment for precision fabrication and machining of components.
- Ability to operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, radial drill press, band saws, threading equipment, grinding equipment, and general machine shop equipment.
- Perform pump repair, arc welding, proper rigging, alignment.
- Ability to use mobile cranes, lifts, and hoists.
- Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a 2-year technical program plus experience as a maintenance machinist or equivalent training and experience.
- Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Must be able to sit, stoop, and bend.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must have a valid current driver’s license.
- Experience in a paper or other manufacturing environment.
- Machinist training and certification are a plus.
- Must have experience and skills operating Milling machines, lathes, CNC operated machines, drill presses, and grinders.
- Proficient with measuring tools of the machinist trade.
- Able to analyze and resolve mechanical problems with design and fabrication of parts.
- Able to work around mechanical components safely, troubleshoot in a safe manner, taking all precautions needed to protect yourself and those working with you.
- Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
- Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
- Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
