Summary
The Director of Lifestage Ministry at Hawley Lutheran Church (HLC) is tasked with executing the mission of Hawley Lutheran Church of welcoming all people to lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. This role is focused on developing, coordinating, equipping and motivating the members of HLC and the wider community to engage and participate in the life of the church. The focus of this role is building relationships and serving as a representative of the life and mission of the Church within the community.

● Demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
● High relational and can easily communicate with people, regardless of age, with love, honor, respect, and welcome.
● Genuine passion for the Gospel, with a heart oriented to mission and outreach.
● Excellent bible-based teaching, and communication.
● Appreciation and alignment with Lutheran Theology and doctrine.
● Understands the importance of continuing to move HLC toward their identified ministry mission and vision.
● Openness to trying new things, experimenting with new models and methods of ministry.
● Awareness of spiritual gifts, strengths and weaknesses.
● Experience in innovation, trial and error, success and failure.
● Humble, teachable and desire to continue learning.
● Provide a partnership with the Lead Pastor in implementing the mission, vision, and direction across the life stages.
Essential Job Functions:
Adult Ministry (Post High School)
o Recruit, develop and build relationships to encourage members of HLC to participate in all ministry areas
o Develop and support opportunities that create meaningful faith connections across the faith community
o Assess, evaluate and develop adult ministry strategy consistent with HLC mission and vision
o Implement and supervise adult ministry strategy consistent with HLC mission and vision
o Lead adult ministry opportunities consistent with HLC mission and vision
o Develop and implement ministry, focusing on cross-generational opportunities
o Create new opportunities for adult retreats and missions that focus on spiritual growth and lifelong faith
Children’s and Family Ministry
o Works with Christian Education Team and Kids Ministry Director to develop children's/family ministry to fulfill mission
o Leverages relationships to engage, equip and empower adults to serve and grow within Children’s Ministry
o Attends monthly Christian Education Team meeting
o Participates in Children’s and Family Ministry events as requested and assigned ▪ Events may include, but are not limited to: 3rd Grade Bible Class, First Communion Class(leads/facilitates), Christmas Program, Trunk or Treat, Christmas Celebration, Vacation Bible School, Midsummer Event, WMSTR
o Leads/Provides teaching and support in CREW (5th/6th Grade) Ministry
o Works with Pastor and Christian Education Team to build a robust relationship with camp (Inspiration Point)
o Creates and promotes camp hosted retreats, events and opportunities for children and families
Teen Ministry
o Works with Christian Education Team and Pastor to develop teen ministry to fulfill our mission
o Leverages relationships to engage, equip and empower adults to serve and grow within Teen Ministry
o Participates in Teen Ministry events as requested and assigned ▪ Events may include, but are not limited to:
Fall/Winter Retreats, Mission Trips, Gatheringso Provides teaching and support in Confirmation as requested/assigned (bi-monthly)-subsequent weeks, lead large group for CREW
o Serves as a support and colleague to Pastor in spiritual development and growth of teen Ministry
Lifestage/General Ministry
o Anticipates and assists in preparing the administrative needs of Lifestage Ministry
o Provides leadership during worship services (reading, worship assisting, sacraments)
o Participates in worship leadership (music/tech/etc.) if desired
o Serves as a support and colleague to Pastor in spiritual development of Christian Life Cycle
