- Provide nursing services as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in designated care settings including acute, short-term, and long-term care by assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating injuries and ailments.
- Obtain thorough medical histories and perform examinations or assessments to determine patient needs, depending on patient population and setting.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to analyze information from patients and records to develop and establish accurate diagnoses.
- Participate in care coordination and navigation by rounding on patients as necessary.
- Work with providers and independently to deliver care; formulate treatment plans and prescribe medications when legally authorized to aid recovery and manage pain.
- Maintain complete and detailed records of health care plans and prognoses; consult with or refer to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed scope of practice.
- Provide patients with information to promote health, reduce risk factors, or prevent disease; counsel patients and families on self-management and treatment plans tailored to individual circumstances.
- May cover hospital consultations, rounding, and assist with patient procedures as needed.
- Conduct research to improve patient care and outcomes and incorporate evidence‑based practice guidelines; stay current with state regulations for advanced practice.
- Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctoral program in nursing for nurse practitioners accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
- Licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice; current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
- Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) or (FNP-BC).
- Demonstrated current competence and provision of care for an adequate volume of patients in the past twelve months, or completion of a relevant degree program in the past twelve months.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Compensation Package: Annual compensation range (based on 1.0 FTE): $92,820 - $157,212. Actual compensation offers may vary and are determined based on multiple factors including education, training, certification, experience, scope of practice and expected job requirements.
