FREE NURSING ASSISTANT COURSE and CNA JOB, Lake City MN
Are you looking for meaningful work caring and supporting those in Southeast Minnesota? Ebenezer is offering a free 2‑week Nursing Assistant (CNA) course with paid training, followed by a nursing assistant position at Mayo's Lake City Care Center.
Training and Compensation- Earn $19.00 per hour during the 2‑week training period.
- After completing the MDH‑approved CNA course, begin work as a Nursing Assistant with a wage increase to $23.26 per hour, plus extra pay for evening and night shifts.
- The training program covers course fees, books, and state CNA exam fees for each hired student.
Monday, February 2:
Introductions and orientation; start online modules (8 AM‑4:30 PM).
Tuesday, February 3 – Friday, February 6:
Complete online modules (8 AM‑4:30 PM).
Monday, February 9 – Friday, February 13:
In‑person training (8:30 AM‑4:30 PM) and skills practice.
- Apply by January 5 to be considered.
- Must accept a hospitality aide training job and a CNA job offer part‑ or full‑time.
- Shift options include day, evening, night, every other weekend, and rotating holidays.
- Minimum commitment: one year of employment with Ebenezer after program completion.
Lake City Care Center, part of the Mayo Clinic Health System and managed by Ebenezer, provides care for up to 90 residents across Transitional Care and Long‑Term Care units.
Nursing Assistant / NAR Duties- Assist adult residents with bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, showers, and respond to call lights.
- Turn, lift, or transfer residents with or without assistance.
- Observe residents and report status to nursing staff clearly.
- Chart or document all cares in the electronic medical record.
- Receive and give reports at appropriate times during shifts.
- Pass the Ebenezer Nursing Assistant Course by 2/13/26 and, within 4 months of hire, pass the State of MN Nursing Assistant/Nurse Aide exams.
- Interest in starting a career in health/senior care and opportunity to grow within Ebenezer.
- Ability to work with a diverse and geriatric/older population.
- Experience as HHA, PCA, DSP, NA, Resident Assistant, or related coursework.
- Experience in a customer service setting.
