Salary: $19.00 - $25.50 / hour

• The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long‑term care.
• Provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Delivers age‑appropriate care for the physical and psychological needs of residents, following care plans.
• Practices infection prevention, control policies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
• Assists with basic health‑care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital‑signs monitoring, and psychosocial support.
• Supports residents in transferring, repositioning, walking, and performs range‑of‑motion and passive exercises.
• Helps with food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience.
• Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
• Assists providers and nursing staff with procedures when needed.
• Documents resident interactions, behaviors, activities, and dietary outcomes.
• Communicates changes in residents’ conditions to the charge nurse.
• Collects non‑invasive body‑fluid specimens and records vital signs.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry services to keep living areas clean.
• Encourages participation in wellness and recreational programs.
• May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.

• High‑school graduate or GED (preferred, not required).
• Minimum age 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing‑assistant experience in long‑term care (preferred).
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state‑certified CNA within four months of start, otherwise enrolled in a training program or in process of obtaining certification through endorsement; training and certification provided by facility.
• Successfully completes yearly department‑specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing‑education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
• Maintains all department‑specific required certifications.
• Registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry when applicable.
• May be classified as a Sanford Category II Driver, requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s license, and must be medically qualified to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy.
