Position SummaryTriton High School is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and student-centered head softball coach to lead our high school softball program beginning with the Spring 2026 season. The ideal candidate will be committed to building a positive, competitive, and inclusive program that aligns with the mission and values of Triton Public Schools under the Profiles of a Graduate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the high school softball program.
- Develop and implement practice plans that emphasize skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and safety.
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches, ensuring consistency throughout all levels of the program.
- Promote academic excellence and character development among student‑athletes.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and the athletic director.
- Manage equipment, uniforms, and facilities responsibly.
- Adhere to all MSHSL (Minnesota State High School League) rules and district policies.
- Participate in preseason meetings, clinics, and post‑season evaluations as required.
- Collaborate with youth softball programs to support long‑term player development within the Triton community.
- Previous coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or competitive youth level.
- Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, strategy, and current coaching techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to foster a positive team culture and motivate student‑athletes.
- Current or ability to obtain MSHSL coaching certification and concussion training.
- Must pass a criminal background check per district policy.
- Minnesota teaching license or experience working in a school environment.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience coordinating youth camps or feeder programs.
Stipend position per Triton Education Association master agreement.
