Job  - .5 FTE Assistant Track and Field Coach

Part-time position beginning 3/30/2026.

Location: High School

Scheduled Hours/days: 2-3 hours/day, 5-6 days/week

Pay Rate: $2,827.50 stipend plus Years of Experience Pay if applicable.

Qualifications: Candidate will have competed or coached the sport or activity at the high school or college level. Candidates will also complete all Northfield and MSHSL professional development requirements. Candidate will pass a criminal background check. Head Coaches must have or be able to obtain a Head Coaching License or appropriate certification.

Deadline: Open Until Filled -- EOE (1/8/2026). Employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

Accountable to:
Head Coach, Activities Director and Principal. Primary Objective:
To assist the head coach in selection, instruction, training, and conditioning of all athletes/teams assigned to him/her by the head coach. Northfield Schools, the Principal and Athletics/Activities Director places an expectation not only on the skills, abilities and commitments of its coaches, but also on their integrity and collective common sense in performing their duties.

  • To demonstrate and generate among your staff and players an attitude of good sportsmanship and fair play by adhering to the Coach's Code of Ethics.
  • To know and administer the policies, procedures and guidelines set forth in the Coaches' Handbook, Conference, and MSHSL policies for your sport.
  • To carry out responsibilities as designated by the head coach.
  • To provide for the health, safety, and well being of team members.
  • To actively work to create a culture free from hazing and initiations.
  • To adhere to the starting and ending dates for your sport.
  • To be aware of all MSHSL rules that would pertain to you and your sport.
