Substitute Bus Driver

Location:
Byron Transportation Department, Byron, MN
Base pay: $55.74/hr (Regular/Special Ed Route Substitute Trips). Sport Trips or Additional District Trips Weekday Rate: $19.29/hr professional on‑site paid training available at $17.15/hr.
Job GoalTo provide safe transportation of district students to and from school and activities. The driver is responsible for general care and daily inspection of the bus, following the daily inspection form and district policies.
Performance Responsibilities- Transport district students in a safe manner.
- Perform daily pre‑trip inspections on the bus.
- Complete daily mileage log for the bus.
- Keep the bus clean, inside and out.
- Comply with all traffic ordinances.
- Report accidents and bus violations to Transportation Director.
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing as required by School District #531.
- Maintain knowledge of all district policy.
- Have a positive attitude and be a team player.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current CDL with school bus endorsement (or willingness to be trained).
- Documented safe driving record.
