Senior Accountant – Medical Device Business Unit – Minnetonka, MN

A dynamic $30 million business unit within a global medical device organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Minnetonka team. This role is essential to the unit’s financial operations, supporting accurate reporting, strategic analysis, and compliance. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with the Financial Controller to ensure financial integrity and operational excellence.

Base pay range

$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Research and evaluate complex accounting issues and new standards.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights.
• Assist in developing and distributing key performance metrics.
• Conduct ad hoc financial modeling and support strategic initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain SOPs for accounting functions.
• Support long-term financial strategy development.
• Manage sales tax compliance and reporting across jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance with CMS/Sunshine Act reporting requirements.
• Oversee accounts receivable and assist with collections.
• Administer commission calculations and reporting for sales teams.
• Resolve commission-related inquiries and maintain accurate records.
• Provide cross-functional financial support and backup coverage as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2.5 years of progressive accounting experience.
