Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer, evaluate, and interpret results of assessment instruments/procedures measuring learning ability and social, emotional, and behavioral development; supervise their usage.
  • Review data on pupils referred to the school problem-solving team. Provide interventions and supports before referral for special education assessment.
  • Conduct personal conferences with parents.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for the operation of School Psychological Services through individual case services.
  • Collaborate with school personnel to secure community resource support for pupils and parents.
  • Provide pupil counseling and other case services as time permits.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.
  • Specific Responsibilities
  • Participate in district research projects, curriculum studies, and pupil personnel service projects as assigned.
  • Recommend improvements to school psychological services to the Executive Director of Student Support Services.
  • Attend relevant state, regional, national, and area professional conferences.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of various behavior management strategies.
    • Ability to perform daily routines effectively.
    • Proficiency in operating computers, software, and necessary technology.
    • Ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
    • Maintain professional composure in diverse situations.
    • Show initiative and act as a self-starter.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction and work direction.
