Routinely responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the building and grounds, related fixed and portable equipment, and installation under the supervision of the Chief Engineer and/or Assistant Chief Engineer.
Supports the implementation and documentation of site safety plans and all ABM Engineering Services’ operational standards and guidelines, as well as site-specific standards, policies, and procedures related to the engineering department.
Functions or Duties:- The role of the Entry Level Facility Technician will evolve into that of a Facility Coordinator (Engineer). During employment, the Entry Level Facility Coordinator will:
- Observe specific tasks assigned to a Facility Coordinator (Engineer) – multiple times depending on task complexity.
- Perform tasks under the supervision of the Facility Coordinator (Engineer), demonstrating mastery over time.
- Perform tasks under the supervision of the Chief Engineer for approval and confirmation of mastery.
- Once mastered, perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Maintain and clean mechanical, electrical, and shop areas.
- Demonstrate commitment to learning all aspects of the trade, building, and industry.
- Coordinate parts, supplies, and equipment from vendors and inventory.
- Perform routine maintenance and simple procedures.
- Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer.
- Under supervision, maintain and repair buildings, utilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Optimize repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, utilizing best practices for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Promote a work environment focused on energy conservation and continuous improvement.
- Record relevant data in building logbooks and make daily entries.
- Process administrative paperwork per departmental policies.
- Stay updated on technology related to building systems and safety protocols.
- Function as a team member and demonstrate a commitment to quality service.
- Comply with ABM Engineering Services’ and facility policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Maintain regular attendance and provide high-quality service to tenants, staff, and visitors.
- Participate in communication with management and staff as required.
Required:
- 1-2 years of related experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
- HVAC or Trade Certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with building systems and ABM Engineering Services’ computerized systems.
- Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements.
- Knowledge of energy conservation strategies.
