Main Purpose of the Role

An EHS professional who applies established EHS principles, practices, regulations and internal standards, interacts with customers and is solutions-minded in completing EHS assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Plans and conducts assigned projects.
  • Coordinates and monitors activities/projects.
  • Assists planning and monitoring status of implementation for those assigned to project.
  • Makes judgments regarding quality of implementation.
  • Facilitates the definition of a project scope with stakeholders.
  • Estimates and coordinates resources needed to accomplish assigned individual tasks.
  • Jointly responsible for achieving the project’s EHS targets in support of business objectives.
  • Applies technical knowledge/skills to EHS programs and systems; benchmarks internally across the organization.
  • Participates and/or assists other professionals and management in the application of standard EHS theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Investigates and performs analysis.
  • Reports findings.
  • Prepares and communicates recommendations and action plans.
  • Interprets problems and recommends solutions; analyzes patterns/trends, interprets data and makes recommendations.
  • Suggests improvements to methods, designs, and processes.
  • Recognizes and implements good ideas/innovations; consistently generates and adopts original solutions to problems and refines them into practices.
  • Establishes contacts with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals.
  • Prepares written communication.
  • Conveys information effectively through formal and informal documents and meetings with both internal and external team members, develops proposals, conducts reviews, and provides audience‑targeted content.
  • Prepares project summaries.
  • Obtains approval to proceed with proposed action plans.
  • Contributes willingly and incorporates the ideas of others.
  • Shares resources, knowledge, and accountability to benefit the objectives of the business; understands own limitations.
  • Builds and maintains open, professional relationships with stakeholders, establishing rapport and understanding others’ needs to promote common goals and follow through on commitments.
  • Supports compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standards; assists in identifying potential EHS risks and consequences of new and modified processes/systems/regulations and takes appropriate action.
  • Stays current on changing technical requirements, regulations, and internal/external standards.
  • Generates and communicates EHS performance data.
  • Responsible for achieving or contributing toward EHS targets.
  • Develops and maintains procedures and standards.
  • Coordinates with technical support personnel to conduct EHS assessments.
  • Directs the efforts of others such as technicians and outside resources.
  • Assists in the completion of Requests for Capital Expenditures (RCEs), EHS checklists, project scope documents, risk assessments, etc.
  • Assists in the resolution of EHS problems.
  • Provides training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (± 16 years) in EHS, Occupational Health, Engineering, Science, Nursing, or a closely related discipline is desired. Equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptable.
  • Master’s Nursing Degree preferred.
Experience & Competencies
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional certification(s) desirable.
  • Demonstrated competencies in Set Vision & Strategy, Anticipate, Innovate, Build and Deliver Results.
  • Technical experience plus demonstrated competence.
